I have had PD for six yrs, now and take sinemet 25/100 3 times per day along with requip and comtan. I am 55 years old and still function fairly well with meds. I feel confident that the future holds a cure. Family support is very important. I live in Rhode Island and love it here. My story is much like everyone else...the shock, the fear, the depression, but I wrote a little verse in my journal which I would like to share: Thank you PD for what you gave me, the patience to walk, the patience to listen, the patience to wait. Thank you PD for what you have taken, the selfishness, the impatience, the useless hurry. Now I have time to be with people, to enjoy nature, to be with God. Now I have time to be me.
